H:26.2 cm.The figure is kept in a book-shaped box covered with yellow silk and stamped on a11 four sides with the seal of Emperor Yongzheng.Inside is an inscription:"In addition to a book and bronze statue for the office of the Imperial Academy of Medicine,we have prepared smaller statues for distribution to the Hanlin Academy,the ministries,offices of the governors-general and governors.and civil and military officials 1earned in medicine,as appropriate.The smaller ones will be useful for beginners’ practice,and the larger ones for advanced study and reference.Our aim is for teachers to rely on these for teaching,and disciples to rely on them for learning."This is from a memorial that Qian Doubao,Commissioner of the Imperial Academy of Medicine,sent to Emperor Yongzheng.
