There were many reports on the treatment of chronic prostitis with acumox. For example, Wu Hongwei adopted the combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs to treat 49 cases of chronic prostitis, and achieved an ideal result. Therapeutic method: The acupoints selected were divided into two groups:
a. Shenshu (BL23), Zhongji (CV 3), Shuidao (ST 28), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Taichong (LR 3);
b. Pangguangshu (BL 28), Ciliao (BL32), Guanyuan (CV 4), Qugu (CV2), Yinlingquan (SP9), Taixi (KI3). Choose the two groups alternately. Shenshu (BL23) and Pangguangshu (BL 28) were needled obliquely 1 - 1.5 cun toward the spine, and were withdrawn after the acuesthesia was felt at the local region. Ciliao (BL32) should be inserted deeply into the posterior sacral foramen, and the needle was withdrawn after the acuesthesia produced at the perineum as well as the lower abdomen. Zhongji (CV 3), Qugu (CV2), Guanyuan (CV 4) and Shuidao (ST28) were needled vertically 1 - 1.5 cun (Evacuate the urine before needling) to make the acuesthesia reach the perineum or the penis, and the needles were retained.
After the acuesthesia was felt, other needles were manipulated with the mild reinforcing-reducing technique, and were retained for 30 minutes. The treatment was given every day or every other day, and 10 times made up one course. After 1 course of treatment, stop the treatment for a week, then continue another course. Take the Chinese herbs. Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Semen Cuscutae, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi, Radix Linderae, Fructus Foenicuii , Radix Paeoniae Rubra , Semen Persicae , Resina Olibani, Semen Vaccariae, Cortex Phellodendri, Fructus Lycii 10 g each, Herba Patriniae and Herba Taraxaci 30g each. One dose a day. After 2 - 3 courses of treatment, 22 were cured, 16 were significantly effective, 8 effective, and 3 ineffective. The total effective rate was 94 %.
Wang reported the treatment of chronic prostitis with multi-direction needling of Huiyin (CV 1 ). Therapeutic method: The patient being in supine position, disinfect Huiyin (CV 1) as routine, multi-directionally needle Huiyin (CV 1) 6 - 7 cm toward the middle of anterior side with the 3 cun long filiform needle of No. 28 (forming an angle of 200 with the skin), then lift the needle from the deep to the shallow, and insert bilaterally as the above angle into the same depth. When inserting the needle, the acuesthesia could be felt at the perineum, and transmit to the lower abdomen as well as the lumbosacral portion. When inserting the needle to the depth of app. 6 cm, empty sensation could be felt, then insert into another 0.5 - 1 cm to reach the diseased place without lifting-inserting, swirling-rotating and retaining. Give the treatment once a day, and 6 days made up one course. The interval between two courses was 1 day. Give 4 courses of treatment totally. Consequently, of 84, 50 were cured, 16 were significantly effective, 6 effective, and 12 ineffective. The total effective rate was 85.71%.
