1. Flexion-Wrenching Elbow

The patient is in the supine position. The practitioner supports the posterior region of the elbow with one hand, holds the lower end of the forearwith the other hand. The elbow is flexed graduallv to the painful barrier position. Then a sudden and controlled wrenching is done to expand the flexion range 3 to 5 degrees (Fig 235). The manipulation can tense the posterior wall of the elbow capsule, break down the hematoma of the elbow capsule and lead the blood to flow into the space of the triceps so as to benefit absorption of the blood. It is applicable to the treatment of the elbow capsule hematoma and the flexion obstruction of the elbow. 2. Reduction of Radius Head Subluxation
The patient is asked to embrace the suffered child. The practitioner puts one hand to support the posterior part of the suffered elbow, the thumb on the upper part of the radial head and the rest fingers on the medial side of the elbow; and holds the lower forearm with the other hand to pull and rotate it posteriody step by step; then flexes the elbow rapidly with the two hands moving in coordination. In the meanwhile the practitioner pushes the radius head anteriody with the thumb. During the manipulation, a spring sound that indicates the joint will be restored can be heard(Fig 236, Fig 237). If the manipulation does not succeed, the practitioner can rotate the forearm posteriorly under slight traction, and pushes the radial head anteriorly with the thumb at the sanle time. Then the two hands make a coordinated motion to extend the elbow joint and thrust the forearm proximally. If the manipulation is successful, a spring sound can be heard (Fig 238).

3. Extension-Pronation-Wrenching Elbow
The practitioner puts one palm on the posterior part of the elbow to support it, the thumb on the trigger point of the radial side and the rest fingers on the ulnar side, and holds the lower part of the forearm with the other hand; then makes a rapid and broad ranged wrenching, in which the hand that supports the elbow thrusts forward and the hand that holds the forearm wrenches backward and rotates forearm anteriody to surpass their elastic barrier position a little bit (Fig 239, Fig 240). This manipulation can extend radial muscles of wrist extension and separate adhesion. It is applicable to the treatment of the tennis elbow.Click to read Chinese medicine Treatment for Pericarditis.
