[Location] Localized in the supine position and with the crura extended, or in the erect sitting position and with the knee flexed. On the anterior aspect of the lower leg, 8 cun superior to the external malleolus, lateral to ST38 (Tiaokou), two finger-breadth from the anterior crest of the tibia. (Fig.47)
[Regional Anatomy] Skin→subcutaneous tissue→extensor hallucis longus→flexorhallucis longus→crural interosseous membrane→tibialis posterior. Superficial layer, the lateral sural cutaneous nerve; deep layer, the branches or the subordiantial ramus of the anterior tibial artery and vein, and the branches of the deep peroneal nerve.
