Acupuncture Point Lingdao (HT4)
Location:
Supinate palm; on the radial border of the tendon of ulnar flexor muscle of the wrist, 1.5 cun above the transverse stria of the wrist.

Function:
Relieving mental stress.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-betweet ulnar flexor muscle of wrist and superficial fiexor muscle of fingers-deep flexor muscle of fingers-quadrate pronator muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the tributaries of the basilic vein. In the deep layer. there are the ulnar artery and vein and the ulnar nerve.

Indications:
Precordial pain, spasmodic pain of the elbow and arm, and sudden loss of voice.

Prescription:
Combined use with TianchuangSI16 (Tianchuang (SI16)) for treatment of hysterical aphasia; with Shaohai (HT3) for treatment of paralysis of nervus ulnaris ; with Acupuncture Single Point Tiantu and TianchuangSI16 (SI16) for treatment of trismus and sudden loss of voice.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: a sensation of distension and numbness which may radiate to the hand; moxibustion: 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
