Acupuncture Point Fushe (SP13)
Location:
Supine position; 0.7 cun above and 4 cun latreally apart from QuguCV2(Qugu (CV2)).
Function:
Regulating qi and dispersing the accumulation of lumps.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-aponeurosis of external oblique muscle of abdomen-onternal oblique muscle of abdomen-trandvetse muscle of abdomen.
In the superficial layer, there are the branches or tributaries of the superficial circumflex iliac artery andvein, the lateral cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic nerves and the 1st lumbar nerve. In the deep layer, there are the anterior branches of abterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic nerve and the 1st lumbar nerve and the their accompanying arteriea and veins.
Indications:
Lower abdominal pain, hernia.
Prescription:
Combined use with Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point) for treatment of hysteroptosis; with Tianshu (ST25) Front-Mu Point of the Large Intestine) and Zusanli (ST 36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of appendicitis; and with Zhangmen (LR 13)Front-Mu Point of the Spleen, Influential Point of Zang Organs), Qimen (LR 14) Front-Mu Point of the Liver), Zusanli (ST 36), Acupuncture Single Point Shenque, Acupuncture Single Point Zhongwan Front-Mu Point of the Stomach) and ShangwanCV13 (Shangwan (CV13)) for treatment of acute pancreatitis.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.5-0.7 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension, radiating towards the foot; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustiomn for 10-15 min.
Note:
The relatd organs of the point include the cecum, the appendix and the sigmoid colon in the abdominal cavity. Don`t penetrate the parietal peritoneum through the subperitoneal fascia
when puncturing.
