Points: Chiyizhuxue (located on the upper border of the sixth thoracic vertebrae); and Chiyierxue (located on the upper border of the first lumbar vertebrae).
Technique: A No.16 puncturing needle for bone marrow is used. Grind the middle part of needle to flat to make it as long as the needle tip. Insert two or three cm No.2 catgut thread into the front part of the needle. Hold the needle by the thumb and middle finger of right hand, insert it in the subcutaneous region with an angle of 450 0n the middle line of the back. Puncture as deep as three to four cm, fixing the middle part of needle by the index finger of the right hand. Lift the needle tube by the thumb and middle finger of the right hand to the top of the middle part of the needle, and then withdraw, leaving the catgut thread in the subcutaneous region. This treatment is given once every two weeks, and two treatments are considered as one course. This method has been used to treat 64 cases of allergic colitis, of which 26 were cured, 19 were nearly cured, eight were remarkably improved, six improved and five failed.
