Syndrome differentiation and treatment
When wind and cold or pathogenic wind and heat attack the lung, the lung qi will be obstructed without dispersion, causing inflexible opening and closing of the glottis to result in the disease. The commonly-seen syndromes include external attack by wind and heat and external attack by wind and cold which should be mainly treated with the therapeutic methods of dispelling wind and clearing away heat as well as dispersing the lung and promoting phonation or dispelling wind and scattering cold as well as dispersing the lung and promoting phonation respectively.
