TCM Diagnosis for Wart

Diagnostic Essentials for Wart in Chinese medicine:
(1) Common Wart: It often occurs on the dorsum of the hands, fingers and toes, and foot margin, manifested by round papule in a size of a needle tip or soy bean in skin lesion, with brown color or turbid brown color, coarse and tough surface, often in thorny shape. The number can range from one to several warts and also from several warts to a patch mixed by several dozens.

(2) Flat Wart: It often occurs on the face or hand in the teenagers and young adults, manifested by flat and solid papule in a size from a needle tip to millet grain in skin lesion, with smooth surface, in brown color, slightly brown color or reddish color, distributed in scattering and in dense form, characterized by auto-vaccination, linear distribution and spontaneous pruritus.

(3) Plantar Wart: It often occurs on the compressed part of the sole, manifested by hyperkeratosic papule in a size of soybean in skin lesion. After the superficial keratosis is cut off, the thorny keratosis underneath can be exposed in different  numbers, characterized by coalescence and obvious tenderness.

(4) Genital Wart (Pointed Condyloma): It often occurs in the external genitalia and in the skin near the anus in adults, especially in those with chronic gonorrhea, leukorrhagia and redundant prepuce, manifested by reddish papule in skin lesion at the beginning, progressively enlarged in number into a patch, in a size as big as a peanut or as an egg, in papillary, fungoid and cauliflower-like protrusion, characterized by red color or dirty gray color, pedicle in the bottom, uneven surface, moist and soft nature, easy erosion, effusion and bleeding. If genital wart occurs in the vagina, penis or perianal region, it can be possibly conversed to squamous carcinoma.

In TCM, a disease or a symptom might be caused by one pathogenic factor, even two or three pathogenic factors. When diagnosing a disease or a symptom, TCM doctors must follow the principle of "Syndrome Dfferentiation", and then "Suit the Remedy to the Case". In order to gain a more definite and valuable diagnosis, it's important and necessary for the doctor to learn the detailed health information of the patient, including his/her disease duration, age, sex, height, weight, family history, urine, stool, diet, sleep, sweat, energy, mood (emotion), as well as the tongue conditions and the palm conditions, etc. If you would want our expert to create a TCM diagnosis, you're welcome to contact us.
