Effect
Relax the bowels and heat accumulation.

Indications
Sore throat, sores and boils, constipation with thrist, rapid and smooth pulse, yellow

coating on the tongue, abdominal distension, Diabetes, hematemesis, nose bleeding, dry

heat in the stomach and intestines.

Ingredients
Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang) 12 g,
Zhi Gan Cao 6 g,
Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao)15 g.

Explanation
Da Huang: the principal drug, being bitter in flavor and cold in nature, purging fire

and relaxing the bowels.

Mang Xiao: Softening hardness and moisten dryness.

Gan Cao: Invigorating the spleen and stomach.

Administration
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.

Contraindication
It is contraindicated in case of constipation due to deficiency-cold.
