Effect
Warming up the middle-Jiao to astringe the intestines.
Indications
Syndrome due to deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach, marked by protracted
dysentery, deep-colored stools with pus and blood, dysuria, abdominal pain alleviated
by warming and pressing, pale tongue with whitish coating, and feeble thready pulse;
including such diseases with the above symptoms as amebic dysentery, chronic bacillary
dysentery and chronic enteritis.
Ingredients
Halloysitum Rubrum (Chishizhi)">Halloysitum Rubrum (Chishizhi) 30 g,
Jing Mi (Semen Oryzae Sativae) 30 g,
Rhizoma Zingiberis (Ganjiang) 9 g.
Explanation
Chi Shi Zhi: The principal drug, being heavy and warm in nature, astringing the
intestines to relieve diarrhea.
Gan Jiang: Warming the middle-Jiao to expel pathogenic cold.
Jing Mi: Nourishing the stomach and regulating the function of the rniddle-Jiao.
Administration
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
