Tinea manuum in modern medicine can be treated by the following methods.
Acupuncture therapy:
At regular and extra acupoints:
Location: Hegu (LI 4), Yuji (LU10), Laogong (PC8), Quchi (LI 11 )
Method of manipulation: After medium stimulation, the needles are retained for 30 minutes, once a day for 10 days as a therapeutic course.
At reflective points:
Location: Lung point, anti-itching point, and heart point.
Method of manipulation: Routine acupuncture is applied two to three times a day for seven days as a therapeutic course.
At special acupoints beside the second metacarpal bone:
Location: Lung acupoint and tender spots.
Method of manipulation: The needles are inserted for 1.6 cm and retained for 15-30 minutes after strong stimulation, once a day for 10 days as a therapeutic course.
Hand bath:
Recipe: Dafengzi (Semen Hydnocapi) 15 g, Huajiao (Pericarpium Zanthoxyli) 9 g, Zaojia (Fructus Gleditsiae) 15 g, Tujinpi (Cortex Pseudolaricis) 15 g, Digupi (Cortex Lycii Radicis) 6 g, Baifan (Alumen) 12 g, Yeqiangweigen (Radix Rosae Multiflorae, wild) 30 g, and Huoxiang (Herba Agastachis) 15 g.
Function: To expel wind. resolve dampness, clear heat, and tone yin.
Method of manipulation: A hot decoction of these herbs is used to steam and wash both hands for 30 minutes, two to three times a day.
