(1) Herbal Therapy
1) Internal Medicine
a. Wind Evil Entering the Collaterals
Therapeutic Methods: To dispel wind, invigorate blood circulation and smooth collaterals.
Prescription: Modified Pull Aright Powder.

b. Deficiency of both Qi and Blood
Therapeutic Methods: To tinify qi and blood, dispel wind and smooth collaterals.

c. Mutual Obstruction of Phlegm-stasis
 Therapeutic Methods: To tonify qi and invigorate blood circulation, dispel disease and smooth collaterals.

2) External Medicine
a. Shell 7 grains of Ricini Semen and pound it into mash, then apply to the Qianzheng on the affected side, that is, apply the right side if the left side is oblique, and apply the left side of the right side is oblique.

b. Grind 9g Ramulus Cinnamomi (Guizhi), 6g Herba Ephedrae (Mahuang), 6g Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae (Fangji), 6g Herba Schizonepetae (Jingjie), 15g Ligusticum Wallichii, 15g Divaricate Saposhnikovia Root, 4g Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata (Fuzi) into thin powder, pound with Fistular Onion Stalk, hold on the center of the hands until both hands sweat lightly, once a day.

c. Grind White Mustard into thin powder, mix with honey into plaster, then apply to the Taiyang (EX- HN 5) on the affected side.

d. Physical therapy: In the acute stage, patient can apply hot compress to the near stylomastoid foramen of back ears with infrared radiation or short wave radiation to improve local blood circulation, eliminate edema and relieve local pain. (2) Acupoints Massage
1) Acupoints selected: Fengchi (GB 20), Yifeng (TE 17), Yangbai (GB 14), Sibai (ST2), Dicang (ST4), Xiaguan (ST7), Hegu (LI 4), Yingxiang (LI 20).
2) Method: Press and knead each acupoint for 3 minutes, 2-3 times a day. Continue insisting on massage these acupoints until the disease is treated.

(3) Guasha Therapy
1) Acupoints selected: Head: holographic acupints areas -one third of midline of forehead. Extra-point – Taiyang (EX- HN 5) and Qianzheng on the affected side; Gallbladder channel -- Yangbai (GB 14) and Fengchi (GB 20) on the affected side; Large intestine channel -- Yingxiang (LI 20) on the affected side; Tri-jiao channel -- Yifeng (TE 17) on the affected side; Stomach channel – from Dicang (ST4) to Jiache (ST6) on the affected side; Upper limbs: Large intestine channel – offside Hegu (LI 4); Small intestine channel – offside Yanglao (SI 6). Lower limbs: Stomach channel – offside Neiting (ST44); Urinary bladder channel – offside Kunlun (BL60)

2) Method: Apply direct scraping manipulation to each acupoint for 2-3 minutes or until a local speckle occurs with a comfortable force. Once every other day, 10 times as a course of treatment.

(4) Cupping Therapy
Acupoints selected: Yangbai (GB 14), Yintang (EX-HN3), Sibai (ST2), Taiyang (EX- HN 5), Chengjiang (CV 24), Jiache (ST6), Xiaguan (ST7).

Method:
(1) Cupping: you should locate one of two acupoints and use small cupping cups to suck on the acupoints after flash of fire or putting fire into cup for 10 minutes.

(2) Flashed cupping: you should make the patient sit there. Then you should hold a stick used as a ethanol lighter in your left hand and a big cupping cup in the right hand and stand near the patient. Then you should put the stick into the cup, light the ethanol, withdraw it immediately, by which it would form negative pressure inside, and make the cups suck on the acupoints for 10 minutes.

(3) Cupping of venesection: after disinfecting Taiyang (EX- HN 5), Yangbai (GB 14), Sibai (ST2), QianZheng, you should use percussopunctators to prick until a litter bleeding and then get the cups sucking for 5-10 minutes. With these done, you should remove the cups, wipe the blood out, and use Iodophors to disinfect the local sites one time every other day. This method should be used as the treatment for the beginning invasion of a disease and for the patients who suffer residual of facial paralysis.

(4) Acucupping: you should use acupuncture needles to prick through the main acupoints to another such as through Yangbai (GB 14) to Yuyao (EX-HN4), through Dicang (ST4)) to Jiache (ST6), through Taiyang (EX- HN 5) to Jiache (ST6), through Yingxiang (LI 20) to Renzhong (DU26). As for the pricking patterns, you could adopt the vertical needling, oblique needling and horizontal needling. You should insert into the Dazhui (GV 14) (mainly indication: central facial palsy) fast and release some blood, and then cup on it for 10 minutes. If it is on the face, you should keep the needles on for 20 minutes and have the cup sucking for 10 minutes. All of these should be processed non-stop as usual until the patient feels better or get his recovery.

(5) Acucupping with warmed needles: you should get the acupuncture needles warmed and then prick the acupoints. After withdrawing the needles, you should use small mouth cups to suck at lateral face one time a day or every other day and ten times as a treatment period.
