Yangpu point is collateral that diverges from Fuyang acupoint of bladder meridian and runs muscle between bladder meridian and yang heel vessel. If there is disease in yangpu point, it will cause lumbago and appear spasm when cough. It can be treated by acupuncture on the vessel.
Where does yangpu point distribute? According to the original context, there are yang heel vessel and yang link vessel between bladder meridian and shaoyang meridian. wangbing thinks yangpu point is yang link vessel. But yangpu point and yang link vessel are originated from Suwen.ciyaotonglun, so they can not be synonym of the same vessel. Zhangyinyan thinks it is Yangfu acupoint. But this acupoint pertains to shaoyang meridian and is on Juegu. It is disagreement with the original context that it is beside taiyang meridian and posterior aspect of Juegu of shaoyang meridian. Posterior aspect of Juegu is not Yangfu acupoint. Subcolateral of gallbladder meridian is at tip of Juegu; it can say that yangpu point is not subcolateral of gallbladder meridian either. Gaozongshi thinks it is Fuyang (BL59) acupoint.
Books before the Ming Dynasty are record that Fuyang is at cleft of yang heel vessel and 3 cun above lateral malleolus, anterior aspect of taiyang and posterior aspect of shaoyang. This is agreement with it is beside taiyang meridian and posterior aspect of Juegu of shaoyang meridian. Yangpu point should be collateral that diverges from Fuyang acupoint of bladder meridian and is distributed over muscles between bladder meridian and gallbladder meridian, so it is called yangpu point. Bladder meridian is distributed over waist and its meridian in internal and external relation-kidney meridian is distributed over lung. So when this vessel is treated can stop coughing.
