Liver meridian of foot-jueyin starts from posterior medial aspect of hallux toe nail and absorbs qi of gallbladder meridian. Ascending from flocci to dorsum of foot and passing anterior side of medial malleolus, it runs upward along medial aspect of shinbone to 8 cun above medial malleolus, where it runs across and behind spleen meridian of foot-taiyin. Ascending along medial side of the knee and medial aspect of thigh to public hair region, its branch is distributed in pudendum and ascends along both sides of pudendum to abdomen where left and right branches encounter (conception vessel and meridian of foot-jueyin crosses Qugu (CV2) acupoint), ascending along stomach it is distributed in liver and diverges two branches from liver, one branch comes through disphragmatic muscle and is distributed in lung, the second branch comes through disphragmatic muscle and is distributed in chest then crosses chest and is distributed in papillae. The trunk ascends from thorax along esophagus and throat and comes through ethmoid bone to posterior aspect of eyeball then is distributed in arteries and veins-"eye system" which is posterior to eyeball and penetrates into brain. There are two branches from posterior aspect of eyeball; the first branch ascends from posterior eyeball and comes out of forehead then it runs obliquely to calvaria and crosses governor vessel into brain, the second branch descends from eyeball and comes through upper frontal bone then runs downward obliquely and is distributed in oral lips.

According to circulation of qi of twelve meridians, meridians that liver meridian of foot-jueyin is distributed in liver should have trunk which is distributed in middle energizer and connects with lung meridian of hand-taiyin then connect qi of lung meridian of hand-taiyin.

liver meridian of foot jueyin

Collateral of liver meridian of foot-jueyin:
Starting from Ligou acupoint of liver meridian of foot-jueyin which is at 5 cun above medial malleolus and forking two branches, the first branch passes through tibiofibula and connects with gallbladder meridian, forming the intercommunication gangway of qi of meridians in internal and external relation, the second branch ascends along tibia to pubic hairs, Collaterals of liver meridian of foot-jueyin of men are distributed in testis and penis and women ‘s are distributed in cunnus. Collateral of liver meridian of foot-jueyin is the main collateral that is distributed in genitalia, functions and diseases of genitalia are related to it.

Divergent collateral of liver meridian of foot-jueyin:
Divergent collateral of liver meridian of foot-jueyin diverges from liver meridian of foot-jueyin of dorsum of foot along liver meridian and ascends to pubic hairs. There is one branch here, it links gallbladder meridian. Its trunk runs outward obliquely along divergent collateral of gallbladder meridian to the 11th rib (Zhangmen acupoint stays here), then runs inward obliquely along hypochondrium to abdomen at the 7th hypochondrium (position of penetrating into abdomen is Qimen (LR 14) acupoint) and is distributed in liver and gallbladder. Ascending through disphragmatic muscle and permeating heart, it comes out of heart and goes along esophagus to throat, ascending from here and passing lower mandible, it is distributed in cheek. The trunk ascends to lateral angle of eye and penetrates into eyeball then is distributed in arteries and veins of brain-"eye system", forking from lateral angle of eye; it is associated with gallbladder meridian and forms the second combination in "six combinations".

Divergent collateral of liver meridian of foot-jueyin is the only divergent collateral that starts from foot; it is associated with gallbladder meridian at public hairs and forms the second intercommunication gangway of qi of meridians in internal and external relation, forming connection in parallel with gallbladder meridian. Originating from foot, it is distributed in cunnus, liver and gallbladder and connects with liver meridian of foot-jueyin at posterior aspect of eyeball, its distribution forms connection in parallel of liver meridian of foot-jueyin and enforces operation function of liver meridian of foot-jueyin of qi and blood.
