Acupuncture Extra Point Dannang (EX-LE6)
Location:
Sit upright or lie on one`s side; 1 cun vertically below YanglingquanGB34 (Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon), at the most obvious pressure pain point.

Function:
Normalizing the function of the gallbaldder and purging the internal heat.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-long peroneal muscle.
In the superficial layer, there is the lateral sural cutaneous nerve. In the deep layer, there are the superficial peroneal nerve, the deep peroneal nerve and the anterior tibial artery and vein.

Indications:
Acute and chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, biliary ascariasis, and muscular atrophy and numbness of the lower extremities.

Prescription:
Combined use with NeiguanPC6 (Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point), QiuxuGB40 (Qiuxu (GB40) Yuan-Primary Point) for treatment of cholecystitis.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local soreness and distension, radiating toward the toe; moxibustion: using 5-7 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10-15 min.
