The onset of this disease is usually due to the transmission dysfunction of the large intestine that could be induced if there is a heat accumulation in the stomach and intestine, or liver qi stagnation, deficiency of qi and blood, or deficiency of kidney yang. In the case of heat accumulation in the stomach and intestine, Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), Neiting (ST 44) and Fujie (SP 14) should be combined; in the case ofliver qi stagnation, Taichong (LR 3), Yanglingquan (GB 34) and Ganshu(BL 18); in the case of the deficiency of qi and blood, Pishu (BL 20), Zusanli (ST 36), Qihai (ren 6), Sanyinjiao (SP6) and Geshu (BL17); in the case of deficiency in kidney yang, Shenshu (BL 23), Guanyuan Ren 4) and Shenque (Ren 8).
