(1) Application with Asthma Relieving Plaster
Points: Feishu (BL 13), Xinshu (BL15) and Geshu (BL17)
Technique: Baijiezi (Semen Sinapis Albae) 21g, Yuanhu (Rhizoma Corydalis) 21g, Gansui (Radix Euphorbiae Kansui) 12g and Xixin (Herba Asari) 12g are prepared. All herbs are ground into powder, which is enough for a person for one year. The method is applied in the three 10-day periods of the hot season. Each time, the paste is mixed by l/3 herbal powder and fresh ginger juice (each time, the juice is squeezed from 100 g fresh ginger) and separated into six pieces of paper or plastic cloth, 5 cm in diameter. The points bilaterally are compressed for four to six hours generally. The com- press is removed earlier if burning or pain appears in the locality.
The application is given once every 10 days, a total of three times successively in the first, second and third 10-day hottest periods in summer. The treatment is applied continuously for three years for acute attacks or in the recovery stage. The effect is especially good for cases due to cold of yang deficiency, manifested as white clean and thin sputum. It is reported that the effect is better if the application is given around noontime on a sunny day and worse on a cloudy or rainy day.
