Wrinkles are some of the first and most common signs of advancing age. As you grow older, you are bound to notice the appearance of creases around your face, neck and the back of your hands. Most people spend hundreds or perhaps even thousands of dollars each year on anti-wrinkle creams and lotions. However, these anti-ageing products do not always yield the desired results. While a facelift is a more reliable option, it is quite expensive for many people. Fortunately, it is possible for you to retain your young looks and reduce your wrinkles, without going through an exorbitant facelift or a cosmetic surgery. Many women (and a few men too) are now opting for an alternative to a facelift, by literally ironing out skin wrinkles.
Wrinkles
Ironing your face to eliminate skin wrinkles may sound scary, or even absurd; however, do bear in mind that this does mean that you can take a regular clothes iron or even a hair iron to your facial skin. You will need to use a special skin wrinkle iron, which can target the common problem areas on your face, such as –
Under eyes
Lips and mouth
Creases between the eyebrows
Neck
Hands
A face iron is neither a laser wrinkle-removal procedure, nor a chemical treatment. It is like a small heating pad that uses radio frequency. A very mild electric current is used to generate heat in the skin as well as the subcutaneous tissue beneath. This causes the heated collagen tissue to shrink a bit, giving it an immediate "tightened" effect. Additional collagen is built in the area later on. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that plumps up your skin, making it look smooth and wrinkle-free. The face iron stimulates the production of collagen in your body for months. It is important to get the face ironed only by a trained and experienced expert. The face ironing procedure is quite simple –
-- First, an earthing pad is placed on to your back, through which a mild current is passed, to check for any reactions or side effects
-- Next a conducting gel is spread over your skin and a small wand-like device is rotated over your skin in small circles
-- After that, you will notice the wand warming up rather quickly. As the heat from the device increases, you need to let your practitioner know when you are "uncomfortable". The iron will then be moved to another part of your face.
