TCM Diagnosis for Trauma of Nose

Key points for diagnosis
(1) The commonly-seen symptoms include local pain and nasal bleeding, or collapse or deviation of the upper segment of bridge of nose and subcutaneous blood stasis. Several hours after the injury, the nasal soft tissue will be swollen.

(2) If the injury is caused by a sharp instrument, it has the manifestations of skin injury, exposure of cartilage or defect, etc.

(3) Several days after local inflammation due to trauma, such symptoms as local red swelling, fever, even suppuration may occur.

(4) Generally, the lateral X-ray film can determine whether there exists fracture of nasal bone or not, and whether there exists transposition of the fractured part or not.

In TCM, a disease or a symptom might be caused by one pathogenic factor, even two or three pathogenic factors. When diagnosing a disease or a symptom, TCM doctors must follow the principle of "Syndrome Dfferentiation", and then "Suit the Remedy to the Case". In order to gain a more definite and valuable diagnosis, it's important and necessary for the doctor to learn the detailed health information of the patient, including his/her disease duration, age, sex, height, weight, family history, urine, stool, diet, sleep, sweat, energy, mood (emotion), as well as the tongue conditions and the palm conditions, etc. If you would want our expert to create a TCM diagnosis, you're welcome to contact us.
