Two kinds of standing position and lying position can be taken. In standing position, the operator presses his back closely on the hack of the patient, with his sacral part against the waist of the patient, and his two hands reversibly fastened together, then carries the patient on his back, with the patient’s two feet off the ground. Dorsiflexion in lying position is also called pulling leg method. Press one hand on the waist, hold up the diseased leg with the other hand and rapidly raise and pull the leg posterosuperiorly for a purpose of hyperextension of the waist which can reduce the transposition of small joints in the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. It is suited for acute sprain of waist or prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.
