Using the center or the root of the palm of one hand or two hands, one on top of the other, to press on the diseased part. The operator may use his body weight to enhance pressure by bending forward, or make the diseased part hang in the air by putting cushions under the two ends of the diseased part. For the regions like the waist and the hip where there are thick muscles, the tip of the elbow may be used to enhance pressure. If a still great pressure is needed, stamping manipulation can be applied. Before operation, putting soft cushions under the patient’s trunk for prevention of crush injury, the operator steps on the diseased part for treading, with two hands on the special bedside wooden stand to control the strength of treading. During the operation, the patient should be asked to take deep breath cooperatively. The operation can make the prolapsed intervertebral disc return and relax the adhesion of ligament, and is thus suited for prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc and pain in waist and legs caused by strain of lumbar and gluteal muscles.
