Herbal therapy
1) Internal medicine
a. Hyperactivity of Monarch Fire and Minister Fire
Therapeutic Methods: To clear away heart fire, tranquilize the mind, nourish yin and remove heat.
Prescription: Modified Huanglian Qingxin Yin (Coptidis Decoction for Clearing Heart Fire)
b. Downward Movement of Damp Heat
Therapeutic Methods: To remove heat and induce diuresis.
Prescription: Modified Chengshi Bixie Fenqing Yin (Cheng's Decoction of Dioscoreae Septemlobae for Clearing Turbid Urine)
c. Inability of Qi to Arrest Semen
Therapeutic Methods: To regulate and strengthen the heart and spleen, nourish qi and arrest semen.
Prescription: Modified Miaoxiang San (Miaoxiang Powder)
d. Inability to Store Essence due to Kidney Deficiency
Therapeutic Methods:To nourish kidney essence,induce astringency and stop nocturnal emission.
Prescription:Modified Zuogui Yin (Decoction for Invigorating Kidney Yin), Jinsuo Gujing Wan (Golden Lock Pill for Keeping Kidney Essence) and Shuilu Erxian Dan (Euryales and Rosae Laevigatae Pill),
2) External medicine
a. Equal amounts of Radix Rehmanniae (Shengdihuang), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishaoyao), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis ), Cortex Phellodendri (HuangBai), Rhizoma Anemarrhenae (Zhimu), Rhizoma Coptidis (Huanglian), Fructus Gardeniae (Zhizi), Rhizoma Zingiberis Praeparata (Paojiang), Fructus Corni (Shanzhuyu) and Duanmuli (Concha Ostreae Usta ) Simmer the above drugs in sesame oil, add red lead to collect extract, apply it on Shenshu (BL 23). It is indicated for seminal emission with hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency.
b. Grind Duanlonggu (Os Draconis Usta) 50 g and Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis)40 g into powder, add water to make a paste, fill the umbilicus with the paste and fix it with adhesive tape before sleep. Apply the method for 1 -2 consecutive weeks. It is indicated for seminal emission due to kidney deficiency.
c. Fructus Rosae Laevigatae (Jinyingzi) 10 g, Shengmuli ( Concha Ostreae) 15g, Qianshi ( Semen Euwales ) 20 g, Lianzirou ( Semen Nelumbinis ) 10 g, Fructus Alpiniae Oxyphyllae (Yizhiren) 10 g and Baijili (Fructus Tribuli) 15 g. Grind the above drugs into powder, fill a belt-like cloth bag with the powder, place the bag around the loins and lower abdomen, refill the bag with the powder every 3 - 5 days, employ the method 5 -7 times for a course. It is indicated for seminal emission due to unconsolidation of kidney qi.
(2) Acupoints Massage
1) Acupoints selected: Laogong (PC8), Shenmen (HT 7), Houxi (SI 3), Yangchi (TE4), Anmian, Shenshu (BL23), Guanyuanshu (BL 26), Zhongji (RN3), Guilai (ST29), Zhishi (BL52), Qugu (CV2), Gaohuang (BL43).
2) Manipulation: apply finger pressing manipulation to each acupoint for 3-5 minutes until a local soreness and pain sensation occurs, 2-3 times a day.
(3) Guasha Therapy
1) Acupoints selected: Shenshu (BL23), Baliao (BL31-34), Guanyuanshu (BL 26), Dahe (KI 12), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Taixi (KI3).
2) Manipulation: apply direct Guasha manipulation to the above selected acupoints with comfortable force until a local roseola occurs.
(4) Cupping Therapy
Acupoints selected: Qihaishu (BL24), Guanyuanshu (BL 26), Zhongji (RN3), Dahe (KI 12).
Manipulation: Ask the patient to adopt a supine position, apply right amount of Vaseline from abdomen to Zhongji (RN3), apply cupping manipulation to Shenque (RN8), then apply moving cupping manipulation from Shenque (RN8) to Zhongji (RN3) until a local red blush occurs, then cupping to Qihaishu (BL 24), Guanyuanshu (BL 26), Zhongji (RN3), Dahe (KI 12) for retained 15 minutes. Patients with obvious yin deficiency can add acupuncture, once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment.
