External Medicine
(1) Application on the points:
1) Ingredients: Gardeniae 1g, Radix Curcumae (Yujin) 6g, radix angelicae 6g, rheum officinale 15g.
Process: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, then mix it with the leek juice into the paste; apply the mixture on the points of Danzhong (CV 17), Shangxing (GV 23) and Shangwan (CV 13); change it when the mixture is dry. It is applicable to the excessive heat damaging the collaterals type.
2) Get moderate curcuma aromatica and fried gardeniae respectively and decoct them in water; warp the dregs with the cloth and apply it on the chest when it is hot. It is applicable to the excessive heat damaging the collaterals type.
3) Get moderate evodia rutaecarpa powder and mix it with the vinegar; then apply the mixture on the point of Yongquan (KI 1).
(2) Application on the navel
1) Grind 30g of rheum officinale into fine powder and mix it with the rice vinegar into the paste; apply the mixture on the navel, cover it with the gauze and fix it with the adhesive plaster; change it once a day and 3-5 times is a course of treatment; it is applicable to the hyperactivity of the stomach fire type. 2) Get 20g of rheum officinale and gardeniae respectively and grind them into fine powder; mix the powder with the rice vinegar into the paste; apply the mixture on the navel, cover it with the gauze and fix it with the adhesive plaster; change it once a day and 3-5 times is a course of treatment; it is applicable to the liver fire damaging the stomach type.
3) Get moderate fresh herba cepbalanoplosis segeti and fresh herba celiptae respectively and pound them to get the juice; pound a piece of garlic into paste; mix them up with 15g of mirabilitum praeparatum; apply the mixture on the umbilicus and the point of Yongquan (KI 1) on both sides, cover it with the gauze and fix it with the adhesive plaster; change it once a day. It is applicable to the continuous hematemesis.
Acupoints Massage
Massage therapy for the hematemesis of upper digestive tract
1) Massage the upper abdomen: Patients take a supine position, relax and breathe evenly; place the folded hands below the cartilago ensiformis on the upper abdomen; then massage in the direction of clockwise with even strength; from up to bottom, inside to outside; to be taken 1-2 times a day and each time for 3-5 minutes; 2-3 weeks is a course of treatment.
2) Rub the chest: Patients take a supine position, relax and breathe evenly; place the right palm on the left chest to rub from up to bottom repeatedly for 3-5 minutes; then the right ones to be taken in the same way; to be taken 1-2 times a day and 2-3 weeks is a course of treatment.
3) Knead the points of Neiguan (PC6) and Zusanli (ST 36): Press both points orderly with thumbs; knead in the direction of clockwise for 1-2 minutes at first and then the anticlockwise direction for 1-2 minutes. After one minute; press the points for half a minute till the sour and swelling sensation is gained. To be taken once a day and 10 times is a course of treatment.
Guasha Therapy
Patients take the proper positions, the operator firstly scrape the Pishu (BL20) and Weishu (BL21); then press the Zhongwan (CV 12), Zhangmen (LR 3), Qihaishu (BL24) and Zusanli (ST 36). The strength should make people feel comfortable. The massage should be taken till the skin turns red.
Cupping Therapy
Liver fire attacking the stomach
Take the points of Burong (ST 19), Laogong (PC8), Liangqiu (ST 34), Taichong (LR 3) and Diwuhui (GB 42). And the reducing method is taken.
Deficiency of the spleen and stomach
Take the points of Zhongwan (CV 12), Pishu (BL20), Zusanli (ST 36) and Yinbai (SP 1). The enforcing method is taken and the acupuncture is taken after the cupping.
All the above types can be treated by the cupping; keep the cup in place for 10-15 minutes each time; take it once a day and 10 times is a course of treatment.
