Acupuncture Point Fujie (SP14)
Location:
Supine position; 4 cun laterally apart from and 0.2 cun above QihaiCV6 (Qihai (CV6)).
Function:
Regulating the flow of qi and dispersing the accumulation of lumps, and relieving pain.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-external oblique muscle of abdomen-internal oblique muscle of abdomen-transverse muscle of abdpmen.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 10th to 12th thoracic nerves and triburaries of the thoracoepigastric vein. In the deep layer, there are the muscular branches of the anterior branches of the 10th to 12th thoracic nerves and their accompanying arteries and veins.
Indications:
Pain around the umbilical region, abdominal distension, hernia, Diarrhea, and Constipation.
Prescription:
Combined use with Zusanli (ST 36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of enteritis and dysentery; with Acupuncture Single Point Zhongwan Front-Mu Point of the Stomach) for treatment of gastritis; and with Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point) for treatment of gastrospasm.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 1.0-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension; moxibustion: using 3-7 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
