Syndrome differentiation and treatment
Clinically, the disease is mainly divided into syndrome of wind, dampness and heat, syndrome of dampness and heat of the liver and gallbladder as well as syndrome of blood deficiency transforming into dryness in syndrome differentiation. At the acute stage, treatment concentrates on removing dampness and heat of the liver and gallbladder; at the primary stage, dispelling wind and clearing away heat is accompanied; at the chronic stage, treatment focuses on nourishing blood and promoting blood circulation.
1. Syndrome of wind, dampness and heat
Main symptoms and signs: These are mostly seen at the acute stage. There exist red swelling, calor and pruritus. If the skin is scratched, pain may exist as well. The fur is white and thin and the pulse is floating and rapid.
Therapeutic methods: Clearing away heat and removing dampness, dispelling wind to check itching.
2. Syndrome of dampness and heat of the liver and gallbladder
Main symptoms and signs: Local skin erosion, profuse exudate, severer pain, yellow turbid crust, dysphoria with restlessness, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, reddish tongue with yellowish and greasy fur, taut and rapid pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Clearing away heat from the liver and gallbladder, removing dampness by diuresis and eliminatimg toxin.
3. Syndrome of blood deficiency transforming into dryness
Main symptoms and signs: Rough, thickened and dry skin around the external ear with rhagades and itching, crust generating squame, lichenificated skin, reddish tongue with thin and white fur, thready and weak pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Nourishing blood and promoting blood circulation, calming wind and moistening dryness.
