Effect
Promoting the circulation of Qi and removing stagnancy of Qi.

Indications
Syndrome due to stagnancy of Qi, marked by fullness distention in the chest and abdomen, eructation with foul odor, regurgitation of sour fluid, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, including such diseases with the above symptoms as chronic gastritis, gastroneurosis, gastroduodenal ulcer, hepatitis, cholicystilis and intercostal neuralgia, etc.

Ingredients (in the same amount)
Rhizoma Atractylodis (Cangzhu),
Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfu),
Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong),
Massa Medicata Fermentata (Shenqu),
Fructus Gardeniae (Zhizi).

Explanation
Xiang Fu: The principal drug, promoting the circulation of Qi to treat stagnation of Qi.

Chuan Xiong: Activating the flow of blood to treat blood stasis.

Zhi Zi: Clearing away heat and fire to treat stagnation of fire.

Cang Zhu: Drying dampness and promoting the transporting function of the spleen to treat accumulation of dampness.

Shen Qu: Promoting digestion and removing stagnated food to treat indigestion.

Administration
All the ingredients are ground into fire powder. The powder is made into pills with water. 6-9 g of the pills is taken each time, twice daily. Or the ingredients are adequately reduced according to the original proportions and decocted in water for the decoction to be taken orally.
