Radix Rehmanniae (Shengdihuang) 15 g
Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis (Houpo) 10 g
Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang) 6~10 g
Semen Armeniacae Amarum (Xingren) 10 g
Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishaoyao) 10~15 g
Zhi Shi 10 g
Black Sesame (Heizhima) 15~30 g
Explanation
Xuan Shen: Clear heat and cool blood, purge fire, remove toxicity, nourish yin for lowering fire.
Mai Dong: Nourish yin and clear heat.
Hou Po: Promote the flow of qi and dry dampness.
Sheng Di: Clear heat and nourish yin.
Bai Shao: Astringe yin to check sweating, calm and suppress liver yang.
Da Huang: Remove accumulation with purgative, clear heat and resolve dampness.
Hei Zhi Ma: Tonify the liver and kidney, moisten the five zang organs.
Zhi Shi: Break qi and relieve stuffiness.
Xing Ren: Descend the lung-Qi, moisten intestines.
Administration
All the drugs are decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
