(1) Both of 15 g of Gujingcao ( Flos Eriocauli) and 7 Jujubes are decocted with water for oral administration' one dose a day, which is applicable to the syndrome of wind and heat invasion of the eyelid.
(2) Bitter gourd cream: one big and ripe bitter gourd, 15g mirabilite.
Process: Get rid of bitter gourd seeds and leave the pulp, put it into mirabilite and put in ventilated place for several days until the bitter gourd produce cream, drop little amount of cream to the eyes, twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.
Indications: trachoma.
(3) Prunella Spike and Radix Rehmanniae Soup: 30g Prunella Spike, 9g Radix Rehmanniae (Shengdihuang), 15g Radix Paeoniae Alba (Baishaoyao), 9g Angelica Sinensis, 9g Chuanjiujun, 15g Semen Cassiae (Juemingzi)">Semen Cassiae (Juemingzi), 6g safflower carthamus.
Process: Decoct all the ingredients in the water, take it twice a day, after breakfast and supper.
Indication: initial stage of trachoma, blurred vision and local contrafluxion (in the endothelial eyes).
(4) Angelica Sinensis and Ligusticum Wallichii: 6g Angelica Sinensis, 4.5g Ligusticum Wallichii, 6g Radix Rehmanniae (Shengdihuang), 9g Ledebouriellae Radix, 9g Rhizoma seu Radix Notopterygii, 6g Shitiaoqin, 6g Caltrop, 6g Radix Paeoniae Alba, 6g safflower carthamus.
Process: Decoct them in the water for eating.
Indication: second stage trachoma, grain of sand in the inner eyes, follicle hyperplasia.
(5) Treat trachoma with Smithsonitum: 10g Smithsonitum, 4g Alumen (Mingfan), 2 verdigris, 6g green bean flour (soak into groundsel), 0.5g pulm film.
Process: External use. Efficiency: To astring dampness and relieve itching.
Indication: trachoma, dacryocystitis and blepharitis ciliaris.
(6) 9g Calaminae, 3g Cuttlebone, 15g Heleocharitis Cormi Amylum, 4 swertia mileensis, 9g nux prinsepiae cream, 3g borax, 7.5g borneol , 3g pearl and 0.45g musk.
Process: Soak Cuttlebone into urine of boys under twelve for 7 days, then wash it clean and dry in the sun, get rid of the shells and grind into powder; take swertia mileensis out and dry in the sun without fire (otherwise it will lose effectiveness), the older swertia mileensis is, the better effect it will get. Grind all the above ingredients into powder, drop eyes there times a day with corn powder, then close eyes for several minutes.
Efficiency: To open the orifices and stop tears, clear heat and improve eyesight.
Indication: trachoma, chronic conjunctivitis and dacryadenitis.
