Governor vessel starts from the urinary bladder (uterus, ovary) in women and starts from testis in men. It divides two branches, the first branch emerges from lower pubis, governor vessel of men are distributed in penis, scrotum, women’s are distributed in clitoris, greater lip of pudendum and lesser lip of pudendum, its trunk runs backward and combines with kidney meridian of foot-shaoyin then runs side by side to belly cavity, ascends along abdomen side of vertebrae and is distributed in kidney. The second branch diverges from perineum, runs backward along anus to coccyx then ascends along vertebrae, forking from occipital bone it penetrates into base of skull and is distributed in brain, its main line ascends from occipital along parietal bone to fontanel, and forking one branch here it enters into base of skull along fontanel and is distributed in brain, main line ascends along forehead to Renzhong (GV 26) acupoint below nose and is associated with conception vessel. Another small branch ascends from lower abdomen along bellybutton then comes through disphragmatic muscle and is distributed in heart, its main line ascends into throat then runs upward and is distributed in oral lips, forking from Chengjiang (Ren 24) acupoint it ascends along lateral side of angle of mouth to fossa orbitalis then enters into orbit and is distributed in eyeball, this branch belongs to conception vessel.
Collateral of governor vessel
Collateral of governor vessel starts from Changqiang acupoint of governor vessel which is at coccyx and diverges from two branches; it ascends between bladder meridian of foot-taiyang which is at both sides of vertebrae and governor vessel beside the spine then passes waist, back and neck and is distributed in head at posterior head. Diverging two short branches at scapular region and connecting with its lateral side of bladder meridian of foot-taiyang, it is distributed in Muscle of back and enforces relation between governor vessel and spine and muscle of back.
