Acupuncture Extra Point Wailaogong (EX-UE8)
Location:
Pronate one's palm; in the centre of dorsum manus, opposed to LaogongPC8(Laogong (PC8) Ying-Spring Point), in the depression about 0.5 cun posterior to the metacarpophalangeal articulation between the 2nd and 3rd onetacarpal bone.

Function:
Relaxing the muscles and tendons, improving the functions of the stomach and regulating qi.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-2nd dorsal interosseous muscle-1st palmar interosseous muscle.
There are the dorsal digital nerve from the superficial branch of the radial nerve, the dorsal venous network of the hand, and the dorsal palmar artery in this area.

Indications:
Stiff neck, Cervical Spondylopathy, Diarrhea, and carpitis.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 05-0.8 cun deep; needling response: local soreness and distension, sometimes radiating toward the tips of the fingers; moxibustion: using 1-3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 3-5 min.
