Acupuncture Point Meichong (BL3)
Location:
Upright sitting with one's back propped or supine position; at the meeting point of the horizontal line passing through ShentingGV24 (Shenting (GV24)) and the vertical line passing through CuanzhuBL2(Cuanzhu (BL2)).

Function:
Improving acuity of vision, tranquilizing the mind, and expelling wind.

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-trontal belly of occipitofrontal muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the supratrochlear nerve and the supratrochlear artery and vein. In the deep layer, there are the subaponeurotic loose connective tissue and the pericranium.

Indications:
Headache, nasal obstruction, dizziness, and Epilepsy.

Prescription:
Combined use with YingxiangLI20 (Yingxiang (LI 20)), HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI 4) Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of rhinitis; and with DazhuiGV14 (Acupuncture Single Point Dazhui (GV14)) for treatment of epilepsy.

Methods:
Insert the needle horizontally upward for 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response: local distension; moxibustion: mild moxibustion for 10 min.
