Explanation
Tian Ma and Gou Teng: Calming the liver-wind.
Gan Cao: Invigorating the spleen and stomach, tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.
Ma Huang: Inducing sweating and releasing exterior, relieving dyspnea and alleviating cough, promoting urination.
Jiang Can: Extinguishing wind and relieving spasm, dispelling wind and alleviating pain, resolving phlegm and dissipating accumulation.
Quan Xie: Extinguishing wind and relieving spasm, counteracting toxic pathogen and dissipating nodulation, unblocking collateral and alleviating pain.
Chuan Xiong: Activating blood circulation and promoting the flow of qi, expelling wind and alleviating pain.
Ren Shen: Powerfully reinforcing original qi, tonifying zang-organ qi, promoting the generation of body fluid to alleviate thirst.
Fang Feng: Dispersing wind pathogen to relieve exterior syndrome, working with Ma Huang to strongly dispel wind pathogen by diaphoresis.
Chan Tui: Dispersing wind-cold, relieving sore throat, extinguishing wind and relieving spasms.
Administration
Decoct in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
