Portrait of Wang kentang
Ming Dynasty
130 ×75 cm. Wang Kentang (styled Yutai, 1549-1613) was a native of Jintan, now in Jiangsu Province. His most famous work is Zhengzhi zhunsheng ( Standards ["Water-level and line-marker"] of Diagnosis and Therapy, 1598), an important work on clinical practice. He also compiled and edited Yi tong zheng mai quan shu (Main Artery of the Orthodox Medical Tradition, 1601), from which pages of many books in this collection are reproduced.
