External Medicine
a. 50g peach kernel, 50g Myrrh, 50g Frankincense, 50g Rhizoma Curcumae Longae, 30g Ligusticum Wallichii, 60g Radix Angelicae, 12g Camphor, 10g Borneol, 80g Rheum Officinale, 80g Fructus Gardeniae. Grind all the ingredients into powder, take 50-200g powder to mix with right amount of white spirit and vinegar into paste, put it upon the gauze and apply to the affected parts, cover and wrap with plastic film and fix it to moist, change the medicine in the next day, 5 times as a course of treatment. b. 50g Artemisia anomala, 50g Chinese Polyphaga, 50g rhizoma sparganii, 50g curcuma zedoary, 50g sangusis draconis, 50g Panax pseudoginseng, 30g Sappanwood, 30g Dipsacales, 30g Rhizoma Drynariae, 30g pyrite, 30g flowers carthami, 30g herba lycopi, 30g peach kernel, 30g rhizoma corydalis. Grind all the ingredients into thin powder, take right amount of powder to mix with sesame oil or vinegar into paste, apply to the swollen feet, once a day, 7 days as a course of treatment.
Acupoints Massage
Acupoints selected: Sanyinjiao (SP6), Taixi (KI3), Fuliu (KI7), Taibai (SP3), Yinlingquan (SP9), Zusanli (ST 36). Massage once for 30 minutes each day, half an hour as a course of treatment.
Manipulation:
a. Press Yinlingquan (SP9) circularly with force by thumb for 1 minute.
b. Press Yinlingquan (SP9) clockwise by forefinger, middle finger, and ring finger for 100 times.
c. Massaging Fuliu (KI7) can clear and activate the channels and collaterals, eliminate swelling and pain in the legs, relieve soreness and fatigued sensation of the legs. Manipulation: Press this acupoint circularly by both thumbs with force for above 50 times.
d. Massaging Zusanli (ST 36) can eliminate swelling and pain in the legs, relieve the tense and tired channels and collaterals of feet, make feet look smooth and lightness. Manipulation: Press this acupoint circularly for 2-3 minutes.
Guasha Therapy
1) Scrape gently to the back side of the knee from up to down for 5 times.
2) Scrape gently bulge of outer bone of the ankle and bulge of inner bone of the ankle for 5 times.
3) Scrape gently to the heels from up to down for 5 times.
4) Scrap gently from the knees to the ankles along the outer shanks for 3 times.
5) Scrape concavity of toe phalanx from inner to outer, press deeply the hollow of toe root for about 3 seconds.
The above foot Guasha therapy can warm the hand and feet, eliminate edema, dissipate puffiness. Applying gentle scraping method to the legs can stimulate legs circulation in a breeze. It’s recommend to use ceramic Guasha board without sharp edged or ceramic spoon.
Cupping Therapy
Acupoints selected: Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), Neiguan (PC6), Waiguan (TE5), Zusanli (ST 36).
Cupping method: Apply cupping jar manipulation, cupping to each acupoint for 10 minutes, 10 times as a course of treatment.
Foot Massage
Basic reflection areas: kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, bladder.
Related reflection areas: lung, spleen, brain, hypophysis.
Symptom reflection areas: thoracic lymph gland, celiac lymph gland, pelvic lymph gland.
Edema accompanied with palpitation, short breath, purple lips, choose hypophysis, cervical lymph node, thoracic lymph gland, heart, lung, windpipe, bronchus, solar plexus, kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, bladder and lower limbs reflection areas; Edema accompanied with splenomegaly, apocleisis, endocrinopathy, skin changes, choose hypophysis, liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidney, adrenal gland, superior and inferior vena cava, womb, ovary, prostate, testis and some reflection areas.
Reflexotherapy is taken up of 10-15 times as a course of treatment, 30-40 times each time, 1-2 times each day, repeat it after 1-2 days. Soak both feet with light salt water to recover the sensitivity of feet to massage.
