    Causes of Cellulitis in TCM
    It refers to an acute suppurative infection occurring between the muscle and skin. It is believed in Chinese medicine that this disease is caused by obstruction of qi and blood due to internal accumulation of pathogenic damp, heat and fire or by infection due to traumatic iniury. Its clinical feature is patches of local red and painful tumefaction, with most obvious red swelling in the center of tumefaction, light color on the side and vague margin. In suppuration, the local skin presents mostly brown color and ulceration. It is accompanied by obvious general symptoms and is similar to acute suppurative cellulitis in Western medicine.
