Main Artery of the Orthodox Medical Tradition
Wang Kentang's [ Gu jin ] yi tong zheng mai quan shu (1601). Wang collected in this anthology the 44 classics from antiquity to the Ming dynasty that he considered most authoritative. His goal, as the title announces, was to define an orthodox tradition for medicine parallel to that for state Confucianism. This became a model for later collections of medical texts.
