Location: In the midline of the sternum, between the nipples level with the 4th intercostal space.
Nature:
Front-Mu point of the Pericardium, one of the Bahui (Eight Meetings) for Qi, gathering point for Qi, point of the Sea of Qi.
Functions:
Regulates and suppresses rebellious Qi, expands the chest, benefits the diaphgram, clears the lungs, resolves phlegm in the chest.
Primary Indications:
Asthma, chest pain, dysphagia.
Tertiary Indications:
Mastitis, cough.
Other Indications:
Intercostal Neuralgia, pleurisy, tumours on the neck, hiccup, blood stasis in chest, palpitations, gastric cancer, cramps in cholera, unconsciousness, Qi xu, sensation of Qi rising and assailing, sensation of obstruction in chest, pains due to Wind, "Singing" in the throat, vomiting mucoid sputum and saliva, vomiting all that is eaten, baby's milk vomiting.
