Objective:
To observe the clinical effects of "dredging therapy"(auricular acupressure + massage + patching "Golden Plaster" +Chinese herbs) on acute mastitis.
Methods:
Fifty-three cases with acute mastitis were collected, and all the cases were treated by "dredging therapy". The clinical effects, rowing of milk, agglomerations in the breasts and the scores of symptoms and signs were observed one day and two days after treatment.
Results:
One day after treatment, the total effective rates of comprehensive effect and score improvement were 79.25% and 83.02% respectively; two days after treatment, the total effective rates of comprehensive effect and score improvement were 90.57% and 88.68% respectively. After treatment, the rowing of milk was obviously improved (P0.001), the scores of symptoms and signs were significantly decreased (P0.001), and the number of the agglomerations in the breasts was reduced(P0.001).
Conclusion:
Dredging therapy has quick and exact effects on acute mastitis and can maintain lactation.
