Acupuncture Point Yinbao (LR9)
Location:
Flex the knee; 4 cun above QuquanLR8(Ququan (LR8) He-Sea Point), between musculus vastus medialis and sartorius muscle.
Function:
Regulating menstruation, normalizing the functions of lower jiao.
Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-between sartorius muscle and gracilis muscle-great adductor muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the cutaneous branches of the obturator nerve and the tributaries of the great saphenous vein. In the deep layer, there are the muscular branches of the femoral nerve, the saphenous nerve and the femoral artery and vein.
Indications:
Pain in the lumbosacral region, lower abdominal pain, enuresis, retention of urine, and Irregular Menstruation.
Prescription:
Combined use with Acupuncture Single Point Zhongji Front-Mu Point of the Bladder) for treatment of endometritis; with Shenshu (BL23) for treatment of sterility; with Jiaoxin (KI8) Xi-Cleft Point) for treatment of abnormal menstruation; and with ZhiyingJing-Well Point), Acupuncture Single Point Yanglingquan He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon), Diji (SP8) Xi-Cleft Point), and Sanyinjiao (SP6) for treatment of dysuria.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 1-1.5 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
